Buyer side pricing data, for the firms that need it.
We work with investment firms and with research and data partners. Each partnership is a package built on the same benchmark library, covering 1,471 vendors, and the same analysts who run our customer benchmarks.
Private equity, growth equity and infrastructure funds: what a target pays for software, and what a portfolio can take back.
Public and private market analysts covering software vendors: discount and price movement by vendor and product line.
Analyst houses, research firms and software platforms: our data in your research, your reports or your product.
What is in the library, and how it gets there.
The figures every partner is given, the same ones our partnership decks carry.
Every quote from live negotiations
Our negotiating team runs about 600 negotiations and renewals a year on the buyer side. The first quote, the counter, the best and final and the signed paper are each a priced observation, with the deal size, the term and the concessions beside it.
Contracts and quotes customers upload
Customers host their contracts and quotes on the platform for Vera AI to benchmark. Each upload is a priced data point, aggregated and anonymized before it reaches the library.
Historical paper read into the curves
Older contracts are scanned and re-read, which is how about 300,000 contracts pass through a year, signed and historical. Every price keeps its priced as of date and point in time versions are never restated.
Published lists and filings
Published price lists and vendor filings calibrate the ranges, with weekly automated verification against vendors' own published pages and a quarterly Software Price Index.
Three packages, from one deal to the whole fund.
Start with one target or one portfolio company. Move up as the fund uses it.
For a deal team with a target under exclusivity.
- The target's software contracts read from the data room
- Each major contract benchmarked against comparable customers
- Renewals and price increases due in the hold period, with the money at stake
- License and audit exposure on the vendors that audit
- A diligence brief written by an analyst, ready for the investment committee
For an operating partner running value creation.
- The platform for every portfolio company, each in its own secure workspace
- One fund view: renewals due, spend by vendor and savings found across companies
- Where several companies buy from the same vendor, the case for one negotiation
- Analysts on the large renewals, with a named analyst for the fund
- Savings reported company by company, for the value creation plan and the board pack
For investment research covering software vendors.
- Discount and price movement by vendor and product line
- The Software Price Index and the vendor discount curves
- Around 365 listed companies, mapped to their tickers
- Renewal pressure: price increases, licensing changes and AI add ons by vendor
- Quarterly briefings with our analysts
- Aggregated and anonymized; never a single customer's contract
Three ways to work with the data.
Each one can be taken alone or combined with the others.
For research firms and analyst houses.
- Benchmark ranges by vendor, product line and deal size
- Delivered as monthly flat files, through the REST API or as platform seats
- Point in time versions with a priced as of date, so nothing is restated
- Field definitions and the method behind every range
- Aggregated and anonymized; never a single customer's contract
For firms that publish to enterprise buyers.
- Joint reports and vendor briefings, written with our analysts
- Co-hosted webinars and sessions for your audience
- Our data cited in your research, with the method stated
- Both brands on the work, under terms agreed in writing
- An editorial calendar planned each quarter
For ITAM, procurement and contract management platforms.
- A benchmark inside your product, next to the contract or the renewal
- The three answers: the cost, what peers pay and where the deal ranks
- Delivered through the REST API with signed webhooks
- Single sign on into the full platform for your customers who want more
- A technical contact on our side for the build
